Murray
back on podium after croft thriller
Round
10 of the Elf Clio Cup saw Eoin start 3rd on the grid behind
Danny Buxton and Oli Wilkinson. A customary blistering start
by the Holfeld F1 Components backed driver enabled him to
snatch 2nd position by passing Danny Buxton on the inside
at tower. Still on an action packed first lap a coming together
with Ed Pead at the complex had Eoin sideways but he managed
a fantastic recovery to maintain his 2nd position.
He
then caught his team mate & Xcel driver Oli Wilkinson
and pursued him for a number of laps before being caught
by fellow Irish man Jonathon Fildes. The defensive battle
with Fildes allowed Wilkinson to increase his lead. Fildes
eventually managing to get past Eoin on the last corner
on lap 8 to promote himself to 2nd.
Danny
Buxton now launched an assault for the third spot on the
podium but was stoutly defended by the young Irish driver.
Eventually, a ‘do or die’ movement by Buxton
on the first corner of the last lap resulted in him going
off & dropping down the order. Eoin backed by high tech
engineering firm Holfeld F1 Components driving to an excellent
3rd place and 25championship points. ‘I am delighted
to have found my way back on the podium and am looking forward
to improving my championship position over the rest of the
season’
