Eoin Murray

1st October 2008 // Monza Mission for Murray

Irish driver Eoin Murray faces the biggest challenge of his career so far, as he heads to Monza for the final two rounds of the Seat Eurocup Championship. Having already won the European Alfa championship in 2005 Eoin is just one point off the championship leader Marin Colak. That is not the full story though, this is an extremely close contest and with 20 points on offer over the two races leaving 14 drivers have a mathematical chance of lifting the championship.

The standard in the Seat Eurocup series is extremely high with the cream of European drivers participating. The performance of Eoin and his team PRS Group is truly remarkable when you consider that this is their first season in the series with a brand new car. Despite the steep learning curve both Eoin and the team have done a fantastic job to be lying second in the championship and being one of only three drivers to have taken two victories in the championship so far.

The incentive for victory this weekend is no less than a fully funded seat factory drive at Austria in the European Touring Car Cup in November. This is expected to be the most challenging race to date with such prize on offer.

Speaking from his home in Dublin before departing for Italy the Reynolds Logistics backed driver was in an upbeat mood “I have been in this position before and know what to expect. I have built a wealth of experience over the past number of years and I am confident in my ability, however, I am around long enough to know that this is Motorsport and anything can happen!”
