Dublin driver Eoin Murray got the visit of the Seat Eurocup off to a flying start at Brands Hatch on Saturday 26th July with a comprehensive win before an enthusiastic crowd. Starting from seventh on the grid Eoin worked his way through the field to hit the front on lap 9 and become the first driver to record two race wins in the series. His pace over the second half of the race saw him hold the margin to 7 seconds at the finish when clearly he had more in hand.

The reverse grid placed him 8th for Sunday’s encounter. A good start saw him move to 7th position but a collision on the first lap with French driver Clairet damaged the steering of Eoin’s Leon and he struggled for pace for the remainder of the 15 lap race. Although disappointed to have missed out on the prize of a full works Seat drive for Oschersleben Eoin declared himself well pleased with his haul of championship points from his eventual 7th place in race two.

Eoin needed a strong result from the weekend to sustain his championship aspirations. This result boosts him to third in the championship and puts him in a very strong position with two race weekends remaining.

Commenting on the weekend the Reynolds Logistics backed driver said “Overall I am very pleased with how the weekend turned out. We are learning more with the car each race weekend and I think we will continue to improve. I scored the perfect amount of points this weekend and it will be important I do the same job in Germany. It is an extremely difficult championship and with four rounds remaining I know anything can still happen.”

Eoin’s next race is 30th – 31st of August at Oschersleben in Germany.
