8th October 2007 // Murray Back for Thruxton Finale

Having missed the last round of the MSA Dunlop British Touring Car Championship, Dubliner Eoin Murray returns to the series this weekend at Thruxton. He is merging forces, for this weekend, with team A-Tech.

The arguscarhire.com car will appear under its usual Quest Racing banner however as several of the teams key personnel are otherwise engaged an agreement has been made to race with fellow Alfa Romeo driver Dave Pinkney’s team.

“Team A-Tech is a good team with good resources. They only had one car for Thruxton so it made sense for us to join forces. I think together with my team Quest we can do a good job. I am looking forward working with Dave and his team”.

Murray, who races with support from Reynolds Logistics & Lubefreight, is very frustrated at the mechanical difficulties which have dampened his season so far. “I think Snetterton showed just how competitive I can be when the car runs trouble free - I wrung the maximum out of it. I scored good points and we had the genuine pace to fight with the works teams. I also qualified a strong fifth at Rockingham but then had problems in all three races”.

Murray goes into the final weekend of the year with the most pre race preparation so far this season. Murray had a ‘shakedown’ test session in Brands Hatch which has given the first opportunity all season to give the car a systems check prior to a race meeting.

“On paper the Alfa should be really fast at Thruxton. We went there last time expecting big things but had engine problems. The Alfa is very good aerodynamically, it’s got a good engine and it is good through the high-speed corners - everything you need to be fast at Thruxton. This is the last race this season so I really want to impress and end a difficult season on a high”.
