3rd April 2007 // Disappointment for Murray

Eoin Murray endured a disappointing end to the first round of the BTCC a Brands Hatch when a suspension part failed during Qualifying forcing him to watch the three races from the sidelines. Eoin had been setting some impressive times during free practice and ended the second session in 8th position.

“I was really confident after free practice because we were close to the pace and I knew we could be faster in Qualifying. Myself and the team found the perfect setup for qualifying and the car felt better then ever before. I proved this by ending up in 12th position after only completing two flying laps. When the suspension failed I had no control over the car and no brakes so it could have been a lot worse.”

Unfortunately the parts required to repair the car may take some time but the team are working hard to ensure Eoin will be on the grid at Rockingham. Eoin is aware that he cannot continue without a more comprehensive spares package and despite budget restraints he is hoping to have this in place for the next round..

“Of course I am really disappointed but at least we were on the pace and we know we can fight at the front for the rest of the season. At the moment we are unsure about Rockingham but I am keeping my figures crossed!”
