Eoin Murray has confirmed his entry to the world famous BTCC Championship for the coming 07 season supported again by arguscarhire.com and Reynolds logistics. Last year Murray proved he has the skill and speed required to be a front runner but just lacked financial support. This year he has confirmed a package with his 06 team Quest racing.
Murray proved his ability after winning the ultra competitive European Alfa Challenge and in the process won his current Alfa 156 Touring car. The fact that this car is S2000 spec which the BTCC is moving towards for the coming season should favour Murray. “We have some experience of the car from last year and we were aware of the updates my car needed for the UK tracks and Dunlop tyres. The front running teams have now all gone to S2000 spec and it looks like it’s going to be extremely competitive this year. I’m really excited to be involved and I can’t wait to line up on the grid at Brands Hatch.”
As budget problems continued into 07 for Murray, he explored all the options available but nothing could compare with the value for money factor the BTCC offered “As things looked doubtful to continue in the BTCC we considered other options but with viewing figures of some 20 million people in 06 nothing can compare. I have to thank my sponsors and backers because racing in the BTCC this year would not be possible without their support.”
