9th October 2006 // Murray determined to end on a high

Eoin Murray is hoping to put the mechanical problems from Brands Hatch behind him when he heads to Silverstone this weekend for the final three rounds of the British Touring Car Championship.

Having endured a torrid time at Brands Hatch two weeks ago Murray is in a positive frame of mind and wants to finish his season on a high note. The gearbox problem on the arguscarhire.com Alfa Romeo 156 has since been repaired and both he and his team are hopeful of a strong result.

Commenting this week the Irish International driver of the year said ‘’ I was bitterly disappointed after Brands Hatch we had a good race set up and only for the gearbox problem I think we were on for a very strong result. Team Quest have worked hard over the past fortnight to repair the problem and we are confident of good reliability this weekend. I have won races at Silverstone in the past and although the National Circuit is new to myself and the car I am very confident we can be competitive. Who knows, if we have a bit of luck this time around a podium finish could be a possibility’’
