30th June 2006 // Murray enters BTCC with Quest

European Alfa Romeo Champion Eoin Murray has signed with Team Quest to compete in the final six rounds of the British Touring Car Championship when it resumes after the summer break. Eoin, who won a 2005 Alfa Romeo 156 S2000 as his prize for winning the Alfa Romeo Championship, has been working to enter the BTCC and is looking forward to teaming up with Quest. He commences testing at Snetterton on July 6th & 7th and plans to be on the grid at Croft on July16th in the resumed BTCC. Murray previously competed in the competitive Renault Clio championship where he proved to be one of the most exciting and promising young drivers. He then moved to Europe and competed in the European Alfa Romeo Championship, which he won in 2005 becoming the first Irishman ever to win a European Championship. He has been twice awarded the Dunlop Motorsport Ireland Young Driver of the year and is the current recipient of the Motorsport Ireland International Driver of the Year. In commenting on his signing Eoin said "I am in no doubt about the difficulty of the task ahead particularly as a newcomer having to carry an extra 45kg for the opening rounds but I am delighted to get this opportunity to race in the BTCC. It is a championship which is going from strength to strength with drivers of the very highest standard and I am looking forward to competing with them" Eoin has just secured sponsorship with Reynolds Logistics & Lube Freight together with his long-term sponsors Holfeld F1 Components and Carnegie Sand & Gravel.
