Current European Alfa Romeo Champion Eoin Murray heads to the Nurburgring next week to test a Renault Megane V6. Eoin has been invited to test by team Euro Nova Racing/ TP Competition which is a joint French Italian collaboration set up by former F1 driver Vincenzo Sospiri to compete in the Euro Cup Megane Trophy.
The series is contested over seven ‘double header’ weekends starting in Zolder (Belgium) on 28th April. It then heads to Istanbul (Turkey), Misano (Italy), Nurburgring (Germany), Donnington(GB) Le Mans (France) Barcelona (Spain) on the Race with Renault Weekend package.
The car is a Space Frame Chassis with a 330 BHP Renault 3.5L V6 Engine and weighing in at a mere 900KG’s ensures this is an extremely quick car. It is rear wheel drive and benefits from paddle shift and all the most up to date enhancements of the modern day touring car.
Eoin, who took 9 podium finishes from 11 races, 3 lap records, 4 pole positions, and 5 fastest laps on his way to winning the European Alfa Romeo title is quoted as saying "I am looking forward to the test at the Nurburgring which is a new track for me and as I’ve had limited experience in racing a rear wheel drive car I will relish this new challenge. Nothing is definite yet as I am considering other options however I am impressed with what I have seen so far." |
