European Alfa Romeo Champion Eoin Murray has topped out his championship-winning year by lifting the Irish Rallycross Stock Hatch Championship. He won four rounds outright and having sold his car with two rounds left to run he battled through the final two rounds in a second string car with enough of a lead built up to win the Championship. This feat was made all the more remarkable in that his car was self run and Stock Hatch duty had to be fitted in around his European Alfa Romeo campaign.
With two Championships wrapped up this year Eoin admitted to being well pleased with his season, ‘’ it has been an excellent year for me especially in winning the European Alfa Romeo Championship but although I compete in Stock Hatch for fun it is a very competitive class here and I am delighted to have battled through to win that Championship also.’’
Eoin, who won a World Touring Alfa Romeo 156 as his prize for winning the Alfa Romeo Championship, is currently examining options to compete in the WTCC in 2006 and is not ruling out the possibility of a switch to the BTCC in the right circumstances. |
