Driving with support from his two sponsors from 2009, Louropel & Saraiva, Eoin Murray heads to Monza Italy this weekend for the first round of the Seat Leon Eurocup. Having competed in the Seat Leon Eurocup previously in 2008, Eoin is delighted to have received the opportunity to take the step up to the Eurocup again for the 2010 season.
Having finished third in the Eurocup Championship in 2008 Eoin is really relishing the opportunity of another tilt at the Championship this season and with the backing of Oasis Motorsport and his experience over the past three seasons it augurs well for the talented Irish driver.
The first round takes place this weekend (22nd/23rd of May) at the world famous Monza track in Italy. The Seat Eurocup supports the WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) and has live TV coverage on Eurosport.
Although savouring the opportunity, Eoin does not underestimate the challenge ahead. “I have fought closely for the title in ’08 and last year in the Spanish Supercopa. I’m confident in my ability and looking forward to the exciting challenge.’’
Eoin will get behind the wheel for free practice on Thursday with qualifying on Saturday morning. His first race of the weekend takes place on Saturday afternoon followed by race two on Sunday morning.
The series will be run over six double-header events giving a total of twelve rounds. The diary for the season is as follows.
