12th April 2010 // Murray kicks-off Supercopa Cup bid at Valencia

Driving with support from his two Portuguese sponsors from 2009, Louropel & Saraiva, Eoin Murray heads to Valencia this weekend to stake his claim for the 2010 Spanish Seat Supercopa Championship. Having challenged right to the final round in 2009 all eyes are on the talented Irish driver to wrest the Championship in the 2010 season.

Driving for Oasis Motorsport Eoin does not underestimate the challenge ahead. “With, between 32 and 36 cars showing at each event and the winner & runner-up from last year’s championship confirmed the competition will be as fierce as ever. We had a very good season in 2009, despite being new to the series, we learned quickly and were able to develop our knowledge as we went along. We are going into the new season much more confident than last year. We have learned a lot from our first season together and are looking forward to mounting a serious challenge again for Championship honours.’’

Oasis have replaced the 2006 car, which Eoin used last year with a fresh 2009 car for this season. Eoin is really looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the new car at free practice on Friday next. Other new variables in the set up this year include the use of Yokohama tyres and the series is also set to visit the brand new circuit at Navarra for the first time on September 25/26.

The series will be run over six treble headers giving a total of eighteen rounds with the best 15 rounds to count. The format for each event is Free Practice on Friday, Qualifying and 2 sprint races (race 2 immediately after race 1) on Saturday and a feature race on Sunday. The diary for the season is as follows:

· April 17/18 Valencia, Spain

· June 5/6 Jarama, Spain

· July 3 / 4 Portimao, Portugal

· September 25/26 Navarra, Spain

· October 16/17 Jerez, Spain

· October 30/31 Catalunya, Spain
