Dunlop Motorsport Ireland Young driver of the year Eoin Murray heads to Valencia in Spain for the final two rounds of the European Alfa Romeo Championship this weekend. Eoin, who has been the most consistent driver in the championship this year being on the podium at all but one round, is carrying a 29 point lead into the final two rounds.

Eoin, who already holds the lap record for the circuit is hoping to qualify the Holfeld Components Alfa Romeo Ireland backed car as far up the grid as possible and consolidate his advantage in race one.

Commenting on his chances of lifting the title he said "There is a lot at stake this weekend but I will be adopting the same strategy I have maintained all season, working to qualify as far up the grid as possible and trying to stay out of trouble during the race. I am confident in the ability of my team (PRS Group) & I have been keeping very fit all season. I am really looking forward to the challenge. There is a large contingent of supporters traveling from Ireland & I do not intend to disappoint them however this is motorsport and anything can happen so I am keeping my fingers crossed"

The European Alfa Romeo Challenge has been hotly contested this year with a host of top quality European drivers competing for the coveted prize of a Works Alfa Romeo 156 World Touring Car valued at 250K Euro. Italian racer Maurizio Campani is Eoin’s nearest rival for Championship honours and while Murray respects him as a strong competitor he will maintaining his absolute focus on that one objective this weekend that of lifting the European Alfa Romeo Championship.
