15th September 2009 // Murray invited to join Seat Eurocup at Imola

Former European Alfa Champion Eoin Murray has been offered a one race deal with top Italian team Rangoni Motorsport for the final round of the Seat Leon Eurocup at Imola in Italy this weekend. Eoin who is currently competing in the Seat Leon Supercopa in Spain has been offered the drive with the front running Italian squad as to help their championship contender Massimiliano Pedalà for final round this weekend.

The signing of Murray as team mate to Pedalà for this critical weekend comes on the back of some very strong results by the Irish driver in Europe in recent years. It is unlikely Murray will get the opportunity to score many points for himself as he is there is support Pedalà and try to help him gain maximum points. However should Murray score the most points during the weekend he will scoop the prize of a fully funded factory Seat driver in the WTCC race in Japan.

Commenting on his signing Eoin said “I’m delighted Rangoni Motorsport has given me the opportunity to be back in the Eurocup this weekend. I have a very strong record at Imola, it is one of my favourite circuits and I have had many pole positions, fastest laps and race wins there in the 2004 & 2005 European Alfa Challenge. I’m looking forward to working with this team for the first time and I will do my best to support my team mate in his effort to win the Championship this weekend.’’
